To enhance the security found in traditional wallet functionality, mobile phone wallets can be locked by the owner or automatically by the software, requiring a password for access. Once locked, the wallet will not communicate with the outside world until it is unlocked using the keypad of the mobile phone. Successive attempts to access this wallet using the wrong password will disable the wallet, requiring customer service assistance.
